Ducklings Wallingford

Halley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Special Education, both of which were obtained from Widener University. Additionally, she holds the multiple teaching certifications in Pennsylvania, including Early Childhood Education.

Halley felt motivated to become a part of the Ducklings company when she noticed a lack of quality early childhood care options in Delaware County. When researching locations to place her one-year-old daughter in 2021, she was left with programs mostly located in religious institutions or in the home of a stranger. Halley wanted more than this and sought out options outside of Delaware County that could provide a few key things, such a safe environment, communication throughout the day including photos, and more of a “school” where her daughter would be given opportunities to interact with other children of all backgrounds and learn about other cultures. Ducklings Early Learning Center was able to meet these criteria. Halley hopes to provide other families in Delaware County the same quality childcare that has previously not been available in the area.

Ed knows first-hand about the type and number of early education options in the area having grown up in Wallingford. Like Halley, Ed also feels strongly that there needs to be more options for families. He believes all children should have access to reliable and quality care. Ed feels a strong sense of connection to Wallingford being that his mother, brother, sister-in-law and nieces all live within walking distance of Ducklings – Wallingford. Additionally, he attended Nether Providence Elementary School which can been seen from the Ducklings’ parking lot.

Providing an Inclusive Environment Halley and Ed have been volunteers with Special Olympics – Delaware County since 2008. Additionally, Halley has worked in the field of special education as a job coach, in-home support staff member and special education teacher since 2008.
